Kneel and Pray, Ye Christian

At the first glint of the sun, proclaimed in chorus by morning birds, and you are aware that you still breathe the same air so sweet, so fresh, that pumps your heart for you to know you are alive - -what do you think is the first and mighty thing you should do?

When you feel your limbs moving and that you are still in good condition to stretch your body on your soft bed with a light feeling of existence that fills your soul with gladness --what do you think you should do?

When you get up and smell the sweet bacon wafting through your room and summoning your hungry stomach to respond, calling you to indulge in a majestic feast--what do you think you should do?

When you get up of the bed and feel your feet on the cool granite of your floor as you search for your expensive flip-flops to cover your sole --what do you think you should do?

When you get out of your room and head directly to the john to taste the water gushing through your face, down to your mouth with such bountiful graces - - what do you think you should do?

When you head to the bathroom to clean yourself with soap and shampoo for you to be clean as fortunate as the kings - - what should you do?

When you put on your clean clothes, ironed and conditioned, to make you look attractive, pleasing to eyes of men - - what should you do?

When you sit on the table with good foods that can satisfy your desire and fills you with strength to go on living despite the evil erring - - what should you do?

When you get up from the table and head straight to your office in which you arrive safe and sound like a mighty warrior unscratched by the enemy’s sword - what should you do?

When you sit in your chair and open the newspaper in which the headline says, “Tsunami kills thousands,” filling your eyes with terror yet too busy to think of it - - what should you do?

When the other page says that thousand are hungry, thousands are homeless and thousands are crying to get out of the war-torn place, howling like abandon children - - what should you do?

And you go on with your task all over again ending it with everything yet lacking the very important thing, what do you think is the last and mightiest thing you should do?

Should you be silent, holier-than-thou, and fall on your knees for just a while?
You should.
