Philippine Wet Summer: A Piece to Ponder

These past few days Iloilo had been experiencing a rather rainy weather that filled up most of  the river systems. Tributaries such as streams and creeks had also been filled by gushing water from the mountains down the plains, hence, inundating communities in the low areas. I asked myself, is this a brand new summer?  The Weather Bureau (I choose to call it that way than PAGASA) answered and broadcasted on air that Philippines will be directly hit by La Ñina. So hang on folks, it’s gonna be a wet summer for all of us. At least, we will have plenty of time inside our abodes to reflect on why is this happening.

March, which is deemed to be the hottest month, had suddenly gone cold. People who wish to plunge in the cool water of the sea or bask in the sun in their bikinis are suddenly trapped under their roofs, leaving them contented with their imaginations of perfect summer escapades because of  the rain. And this will not only alter the natural behavior of men, but will also get them into thinking as well.

Now, tell me Mr. Al Gore, the used to be next president of the USA, is this all what you have been telling us about? If I were to note again his story, I would definitely go goosebumps on what might possibly happen in the next ten years. He said the impact of climate change may remain inconspicuous this time, but it nevertheless starts to circulate, subtly, like a virus, infecting whatever, whoever crosses its way. It poses a great threat, far worst than cancer or AIDS, because it does not involve one or two persons but the whole humanity. And ain't it  creepy to see our race wipe out bit by bit, onto which, only us can be accounted for?

It got you thinking huh?
