What
if your spine cringes back because you are reading for 8 straight hours? That would
be a terrible burden to carry. In fact, the pain will be horrendous for it will
definitely affect all your activities. And when you summon a doctor to check on
your spine, the result would look exactly like this:

Who
would like to have that kind of spine, pips? Everybody is prone to this, but the most vulnerable are the "readers". Yes the readers! While reading requires so much for
the brain to digest ideas, it makes it even harder for the body to withstand
the back strains while reading a hundred pages or more (which reminds me actually of the adage, “ too much
of something is bad”). It has been clinically found out that reading can be very harmful especially in maintaining a proper posture. An article form the New York Times has elaborated it down pat. Tread along and read.
But of course, I don't want to scare away people from reading, I just want them to be aware that everything has a price, even something as delectable as reading.

ReplyDeleteAah.. What I do is I don't maintain one position while reading partly because I already have back problems (not caused by reading but by clumsiness)
